2018 Ford F-150 Technology Spotlight

Ford F-150 Technology

The new 2018 Ford F-150, available at Paradise Ford, is a powerful truck that earns its right as America’s best-selling truck and vehicle — an honor that the pickup has owned for four decades. Over those four decades, Ford has continued to push the envelope with the F-150’s technology but never has that technology been as forward-thinking as it is for 2018.

Adaptive Cruise Control

The 2018 Ford F-150 offers Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, which works even with a trailer in tow. As part of the adaptive nature of the F-150’s cruise control, you can set the minimum distance you want to maintain between the F-150 and the vehicle in front of you. If the car ahead of you suddenly reduces speed, so will the F-150, and then it will resume its original speed as soon as that car speeds up or gets over.

The Stop and Go functionality means that if the car ahead of you hits the brakes, like at a stoplight or in sudden traffic, the F-150 will come to a complete stop on its own as well, then start back up when the vehicle ahead of you begins to move once again.

Powertrain Options

The F-150 offers a wide range of engines, including the 3.5-liter EcoBoost® (375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque), the 2.7-liter EcoBoost® (325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque), the new 3.3-liter TI-VCT V6 (290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque), the 5.0-liter TI-VCT V8 (395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque), and the Raptor DOHC 24-Valve, High-Output 3.5-liter EcoBoost® (450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque). A diesel engine will make its way into the lineup as well.

SYNC® 3

For 2018, the F-150’s SYNC 3 system gets a new touchscreen, as well as Apple CarPlay™ compatibility. With this technology, you can place calls, reply to text messages, and listen to your music — all while safely operating the F-150.
